So, as I wrote yesterday, I had an audition today.

Now, let me preface by saying that when I was younger, I used to care a lot about what people thought of me. I hated thinking that I would embarrass myself. Almost to the point of anxiety.

Ok, so this audition. I spent some time last night and then this morning memorizing lines. I had them down. I mean dooooown. And even on my way there I was reciting them over and over and over to my friend Rima on speaker phone.

I get to the audition and four of us are called into the room. The guy explains that we have to pretend we’re watching a game and when he points, we erupt into large and loud cheering and applause. High fiving each other and the like.

I had gone in with the sides and so I ask him, “And then I do the lines?”

**cricket. cricket**

“Lines?”

“Yeah. I had these.”

He takes them and looks them over.

He says… “…no…”

Dawning lightbulb over my head.

“Ooooh… so…. I’m a sportsfan.”

“Yeah.”

Ummm… yeah…

Oh well, better to be over prepared.
